In response to the struggle thatboth black and white American people have, Martin Luther King. Jr makes hisargument that it is unjust for America to involve in the Vietnam War in “BeyondVietnam-A Time to Break Silence”. He effectively supports his argument byrhetorical questioning, personal anecdote and ethos of the nation.
King stars his article off byappealing pathos to the audience. In the paragraph, he states the war, “wassending their sons and their brothers and their husbands to fight and to die”,which refers to the American people. It’s like ripping a heart open with barehands, forcing people to look at what they don’t want to be reminded of, sinceit is painful letting love ones to fight till death. But King states what hesees and touches people heartstrings. Furthermore, he investigates aninteresting but also ionic fact that black and white people “kill and dietogether for a nation that has been unable to seat them together in the sameschools”. This is his “moral vision” as he mentions in paragraph 1, there is nomeaning letting those people sacrifice themselves for the unity they’ve notenjoyed for enough time. It is miserable for those American as well because, their government separate them on its own wish, but united them to fight in war.
Next, King’s argument is furtheredby his use of personal anecdote. He stays in the ghettoes of the North forthree years before he writes this article, and experiences all kinds of menasking him questions, desperate, rejected and angry. One of the most effectivequestion to him was, “what about Vietnam?” King clearly couldn’t answer thatquestion, because he realizes his own government – America is the greatestpurveyor of violence in the world today. By realizing the fact himself, he alsoawakes many American from the sweet dream of their greatest country in theworld. He tells the audience: stop daydreaming and America is the greatestcreator of fear and tear instead. His use of strong concrete language encouragepeople to think what their nation really looks like, stop just living under asugary layer and protected by the government.
Finally, he extends his argumenttalking about the soul of America. There comes another experience of his. Agroup of them formed Southern Christian Leadership and chose the motto: “Tosave the soul of America.” According to his words, anyone who has concern forthe integrity and life of America cannot ignore the present Vietnam War, whichmeans, if the audience want to keep the soul of America, they have to payattention to the war. Or else, it can never be saved as it destroys the deepesthopes of men the world over. One of an important ethos of American people is topersuade happiness, thus war which brings pathos, gives a negative result ofwhat American want. Conducting the message logically, war is poisoning peopleand stop them from moving forward to happiness.
In all, arguing by rhetorical questioning, personal anecdote and ethos, King tells audience incandescently clear thatgetting involve in Vietnam War is incompatible and unjust. To save the nation,it is necessary to think about what do we want our future to be and drives to aright path.

In response to the struggle that both black and white American people have, Martin Luther King. Jr makes his argument that it is unjust for America to involve in the Vietnam War in “BeyondVietnam-A Time to Break Silence”. He effectively supports his argument by rhetorical questioning, personal anecdote and ethos of the nation.

King starts his article off by appealing pathos to the audience. In the paragraph(第几段?), he states the war,(that the war) “was sending their sons and their brothers and their husbands to fight and to die”,which refers to the American people. It’s like ripping a heart open with bare hands, forcing(rendering) people to look at what they don’t want to be reminded of, since it is painful letting love(their beloved) ones to fight till death. But King states what he sees and touches people(注意从属关系加‘s) heartstrings. Furthermore, he investigates an interesting but also ionic fact that black and white people “kill and die together for a nation that has been unable to seat them together in the same schools”. This is his “moral vision” as he mentions in paragraph 1, there is no meaning letting those people sacrifice themselves for the unity they’ve not enjoyed for enough time. It is miserable for those American(加s) as well because,(无需逗号)their government separate(segregated) them on its own wish, but united them to fight in war. 本段分析的不错,但是首段提到的rhetorical question在哪里并没有列举出来。

Next, King’s argument is furthered by his use of personal anecdote. He stays in the ghettoes of the North for three years before he writes this article, and experiences all kinds of men asking him questions, desperate, rejected and angry. One of the most effective question to him was,(需用that引导表语从句,逗号删去) “what about Vietnam?” King clearly couldn’t answer that question, because he realizes his own government –(of此处是从属关系,非解释关系) America is the greatest purveyor(用词准确并且高级) of violence in the world today. By realizing the fact himself, he also awakes many Americans from the sweet dream of their greatest country in the world. He tells the audience:(to) stop daydreaming and realize that America is the greatest creator of fear and tear instead. His use of strong concrete language encourage(加s) people to think what their nation really looks like, and to(两个动词需要连词连接) stop just living under a sugary layer and protected by the government.

Finally, he extends his argument talking about the soul of America. There comes another experience of his.(可用分号连接后面的句子) A group of them(指代不明) formed Southern Christian Leadership and chose the motto: “To save the soul of America.” According to his words, anyone who has concern for the integrity and life of America cannot ignore the present Vietnam War, which means,(用that引导宾语从句,逻辑更清晰) if the audience want to keep the soul of America, they have to pay attention to the war. Or else, it can never be saved as it destroys the deepest hopes of men the world over. One of an important ethos of American people is to persuade happiness, thus war which brings pathos, gives a negative result of what American want. (表意不清)Conducting the message logically, war is poisoning people and stop(stopping) them from moving forward to happiness. 末句最好需要呼应下首段的ethos

In all, arguing(删去) by rhetorical questioning, personal anecdote and ethos, King tells audience incandescently(用词准确并且高级)clear that getting involve9involved) in Vietnam War is incompatible and unjust. To save the nation,it is necessary to think about what do(删去,肯定句不需要助动词前移) we want our future to be and drives to a right path.
