In his 2003 Photography Journey, “ Arctic National Wildlife Refuge: Seasons of Life and Land,” Subhankar Banerjee addresses the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge should not be developed for industry. Banerjee effectively builds his passionate yet reasoned  argument with an appeal to pathos, logos, and american values to convey the idea that industries should not go into Arctic National Wildlife Refuge.
Banerjee’s primary rhetorical strategy is appeal to pathos. For example, “In a matter of a new minutes, the sweep of tundra before us become flooded with life, with the sounds of grunting animals and clicking hooves filling the air.” By referring to his own experience, Banerjee vividly create an image of an beautiful and energetic wildlife refuge, which infers how dehumanizing destroying these lives’ habitats is. In addition, this image also makes readers feel pity for these lives if we disturb their environment, sufficiently strengthening author’s statement that putting industry on the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge is not a good idea.
As he brings more statistics and datas, Banerjee continues to develop his argument that Industry should keep out of Arctic National Wildlife Refuge by showing how unnecessary it is to drill oil from the refuge. Banerjee states, “ The Arctic Refuge only provide 1 to 2 percent of the oil our country consume everyday. We can easily conserve more than that amount by driving more fuel-efficient vehicles.” This fact help readers to see a simple logic that the pros of drilling oil from the refuge is not necessary at all because the oil we can get is so tiny comparing to the oil American use nowadays. By showing these authentic statistics, Banerjee’s argument is enhanced.
Finally Banerjee use appeal to american values in order to convince the reader how important the Arctic Refuge is. Banerjee writes, “it is a symbol of our national heritage, a remnant of frontier America that our first settlers once called wilderness.”  By connecting nation’s value to the refuge, readers are easily convinced. Banerjee not only relates the Arctic Refuge with American’s value but also makes readers feel proud to keep the Refuge wild and peaceful. This strategy Banerjee used strongly persuade readers that Refugee should not be industrialized.
Using evidence, reasoning, and personal experience, Subhankar Banerjee successfully identifies the importance of the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge. In doing so, Banerjee makes a powerful appeal to readers’ need to preserve their deepest values. Banerjee’s argument ultimately reminds readers of what is important to them, and what deserves to be protected.

In his 2003 Photography Journey, “ Arctic National Wildlife Refuge: Seasons of Life and Land,” Subhankar Banerjee addresses the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge should not be developed for industry. Banerjee effectively builds his passionate yet reasoned  argument with an appeal to pathos, logos, and american values(ethos) to convey the idea that industries should not go into Arctic National Wildlife Refuge.
Banerjee’s primary rhetorical strategy is appeal to pathos.(文章最显著的证据是个人经历,二三两段都是,需要paraphrase,然后在段末再appeal to pathos,分析会更深入) For example, “In a matter of a new minutes, the sweep of tundra before us become flooded with life, with the sounds of grunting animals and clicking hooves filling the air.” By referring to his own experience(具体什么经历没有论述), Banerjee vividly create an image of an beautiful and energetic wildlife refuge, which infers how dehumanizing destroying these lives’ habitats is. In addition, this image also makes readers feel pity for these lives if we disturb their environment, sufficiently strengthening author’s statement that putting(introducing) industry on(to) the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge is not a good idea.
As he brings more statistics and datas,(段落首句应该先点明数据分析角度,后面再具体举例。data本身是复数) Banerjee continues to develop his argument that Industry should keep out of Arctic National Wildlife Refuge by showing how unnecessary it is to drill oil from the refuge. Banerjee states, “ The Arctic Refuge only provide 1 to 2 percent of the oil our country consume everyday. We can easily conserve more than that amount by driving more fuel-efficient vehicles.” This fact help(加s) readers to see a simple logic that the pros of drilling oil from the refuge is not necessary at all because the oil we can get is so tiny comparing to the oil American use nowadays. By showing these authentic statistics, Banerjee’s argument is enhanced. (此段末尾要总结appeal to logoes这个说服力技巧,与首段进行呼应)
Finally Banerjee use(加s) appeal to american values in order to convince the reader how important the Arctic Refuge is. This strategy Banerjee used strongly persuade(加s) readers that Refugee should not be industrialized.

全文415个词,分析不够深入,需要把常见的个人经历,数据的作用套话放进去。
